SparkMacon 3D Print

The world of 3D design is growing, and fast. With 3D printers becoming more readily available, more and more households are making affordable purchases to get their own.

In the early days of 3D design, people would often think not of what they could do with it, but what some big cooperation will pay a lot of money to a skilled employee to do. At one time, there was a very small group of people with the skill set needed, and very few wanting to experiment with what could really be done. In today’s world, there are far too many applications for it and can actually be used in just about any industry.

Depending on what you plan to make, you may want to determine what area your specific skill set may fall under. Some of the most common industries that utilize 3D tools include:

  • Illustration
    • Game Design
    • Character Development
    • Storyboard Creation
  • Animation
    •  Multimedia
    • Special Effect
    • Broadcast
    • Motion Graphics
  • Corporate Design
    • Marketing
    • Photography/Videography
  • Geographical Information
  • Industrial Design
    • Product Development
    • Blueprinting
    • Schematics
  • Architectural Design
    • Structural Layout
    • Interior Design
  • Fine Arts & Graphic Design

And last but not least:

  • 3D Printing

This is just a short list of some capabilities. No matter your industry, whether personal or commercial, chances are you can benefit from 3D design. There are hundreds of different software to choose from, many of which are free, that will help you in whatever it is you wish to accomplish.

So you may be wondering where to start? Well you’re in luck, this Saturday June 18, 2016, we will be hosting a 3D Modeling workshop. in this specific workshop:

“Participants will learn the basics of 3D modeling and designing objects for a 3D printer. Skills from this workshop will empower makers to build elements for video game worlds, art and 3D printed pieces. We will also provide demonstrations of our 3D printing equipment.”

This workshop is part of our Maker Skills: Summer Workshops and can be taken individually or as a series.

Be sure to check out our workshops, and you will be one step closer to dominating the 3D world!
